The Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway branch of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association held the annual Carrick Lowland Gathering today at Girvan in Ayrshire.

Conditions were reported to be windy, dry and mild. The results are, pipe bands firstly:

Open – 1. Kilmarnock Pipe Band; 2. 1st Troon Boys Brigade; 3. Ayr Pipe Band Society; 4. Kirkcudbright & District Pipe Band.

Grade 3 – 1. Kilmarnock Pipe Band; 2. 1st Troon Boys Brigade (piping preference); 3. Ayr Pipe Band Society; 4. Troon Blackrock (piping preference).

Grade 4 (Marches) – 1. 1st Troon Boys Brigade; 2. Troon Blackrock; 3. Lochryan Development Pipe Band.

Grade 4 (MSR) – 1. Kirkcudbright & District Pipe Band.
