As reported recently on bagpipe.news, this year’s Piping Live! festival features an educational slant called ‘Learn at Live! 2019. One of the workshops will see leading figures from the pipe band world explain some of the tricks and techniques they use(d) to achieve success with their respective pipe band.
Among those participating will be Richard Parkes, Keith Orr, Robert Matheson, Terry Lee, Jack Lee, J. Reid Maxwell, Steven McWhirter and Tyler Fry
The workshops will be held in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow’s city centre, a short walk from The National Piping Centre, and are sure to be of interest of pipe majors, leading drummers and pipe band people in general. They aim to provide insight into methods used to create quality performances in everything from the sound produced to the musicality of the performances. Included are workshops on medley construction and pipe band set up.
