Lochryan Pipe Band, based in the south west of Scotland, is seeking a new Pipe Major to lead its Grade 3b band. There is currently an established pipe corps and full drum corps within the band with players travelling from Stranraer and the surrounding district.

In addition, the band is looking to recruit a paid Piping Tutor for its development band.

Established in 1932, the band plays a pivotal role within the community of Stranraer and in the wider county of Dumfries and Galloway, offering tutoring for beginners and competing in major championships across UK and Ireland.

In the 2018 competition season, the band became Grade 4A Champion of Champions (as a band and for drumming) It was then upgraded to Grade 3b for the 2019 season.

Following its Champion of Champions title in 2018, the band created a development band which is registered in Grade 4b.

John Harvey led the band during this period and will remain a playing member of the band.

Lochryan Pipe Band has a large support network within the local community, one that helps keep it stable financially. For more information please contact the band secretary at lochryanpbsecretary@gmail.com
