The National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland (NYPBoS) begins an online teaching programme next month for youngsters in the Hebrides, the islands off Scotland’s west coast.
From Monday 12 to Friday 16, a series of live sessions, (using Zoom videoconference software), tutorials and online music making with some guest musicians (including the NYPBoS and Silver Medallist, James Duncan MacKenzie) are planned. The sessions will run from 10:00am-4:00pm.
The programme is open to 10-18 year olds and tailored to three different levels of learners. The week will focus on the concert pipe band experience from the comfort of the home. Although the school is open to youngsters around Scotland, with limited places priority will be given to those from the Hebrides.
