Last night at 6pm on The National Piping Centre Facebook live stream, Dan Nevans guided the viewers through the process of hemping up a set of pipes and ‘getting them going’. His informative and entertaining demonstration shared a lot of professional tips and tricks for getting your instrument air tight in all the important places to prevent them letting you down at just the wrong time.

Tune in at 6pm tonight, Feb 2, for the day two of the February Piping Challenge at The National Piping Centre’s Facebook page.

Spinning Plates is the theme for today’s broadcast, and is about organising your practice sessions into three categories: Technical, Musical and Mechanical

Technical will cover decorative and transitional techniques, Musical will cover relevant note values to the duration of the beat, and Mechanical will be about maintaining the sound of the pipes while playing.
