The World Amateur Solo Piping Competitions have taken place on Tuesday and Wednesday at Piping Live! 2023, held in the NPC’s Otago Street Venue.
Jean-Sébastien Gamache from Canada was the overall winner of Grade 1, which earns him a place in the CLASP Champion of Champions competition in 2024. Sarah Bergen was first in the Piobaireachd and Marc Warnock first in the MSR.

Grade 2 was held on Tuesday August 15, and the overall winner was John Nevans. There was also a presentation on Tuesday to John Todd, who was the winner of the CLASP Grade 3 league for the 22/23 season. The full results were as follows:
