This new single takes three classic pipe tunes – The Drunken Piper, Kalabakan, The Man from Glengarry and presents them in a modern style. Beginning with a voice note of the original idea, the listener is transported straight from the infancy of the concept to impactful, full band sound. A dynamic, flourishing fiddle solo provides a moment of calm and a fresh take on an established melody. Then the final powerful pipe reel brings the set to a close with variations and excitement aplenty.

Ross’ debut album The Roke received a nomination for Trad Album of the Year at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards. Ross was a finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year and has won a Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections.
The gig is in the Strathclyde Suite at the Concert Hall the night before Inveraray play at the piping concert (which Ross will also be playing in) so you could make a Glasgow piping weekend of it if you’re into that kind of thing!
