Piping tuition, competitions, workshops and concerts on offer in January 2023

You may be planning a quiet start to daily life in 2023, but a busy January lies in store for those who want to start the year filled with bagpipes.

If you are in Scotland, The National Piping Centre is offering weekend tuition for U17 pipers; adult amateur pipers have a chance to play in the CLASP; there is Highland pipes and Bellows pipes evening classes at TNPC; there is the four-day Pipers Tryst trad music session workshop collaboration between TNPC and Celtic Connections, and an offering of more than 10 piping-related concerts at Celtic Connections taking us into the first week of February.

Outside of Scotland we have the Winter Storm competitions and workshops in Kansas City, Missouri and in New Zealand there is the RNZPBA Summer School, with both events running from from January 11 – 15. Also in New Zealand there is the Turakina Highland Games at the end of the month, January 28.
